3M and Expert System Sign Agreement for Development of Advanced Systems for Medical Documentation Control and Coding

3M Italy Health Information System, the division of 3M that specializes in the development of advanced information technology tools for the classification of hospital activities and health planning systems, and Expert System (EXSY), a leader in semantic technology for information management, have signed an agreement for the joint development of products to improve the management and control of hospital activities.
The agreement provides a meaningful opportunity to apply an innovative system for analysis and coding to clinical information. The integration with semantic text analysis tools will make it possible to control the integrity of medical records and automate the diagnostic coding in ICD-9 and ICD-10, with the goal of simplifying information process, support better decision-making, and save time and resources.
